The Rawlings PROTB24, often called the “Trapeze Black 24,” is one of the most iconic Heart of the Hide gloves ever produced, thanks in large part to its association with baseball legend Ken Griffey Jr., who famously wore number 24. Built from premium full-grain Rawlings steerhide leather with a deer-tanned cowhide palm, the PROTB24 was designed for serious outfield play. Its 12.75-inch size, Fastback style, and signature Trap-Eze web create the distinctive “six-finger” look that made it instantly recognizable on Griffey’s hand. The Fastback design also includes Rawlings’ Holdster finger slot, giving players added control and protection. Beyond its technical excellence, the glove has become a cherished collector’s item—both for its craftsmanship and its connection to Griffey’s highlight-reel career. Enthusiasts still seek out original models, and many share stories of restoring their well-worn PROTB24s to game-ready condition. Now, with this remake available in stock, the legendary design and feel of the PROTB24 live on, preserving its status as a timeless symbol of style, performance, and baseball history.

Ken Griffey Jr. and Bo Jackson both trusted the Rawlings TB model during their careers, as did recent Hall of Fame inductee Dave Parker. While the TB and TB24 ruled the outfield in the ’80s and ’90s, the modern 303 pattern and pocket might not deserve all the spotlight.

Just as good as the original
This is the glove I asked Don to have built because I always liked the original so much. It came out fantastic! Love the more traditional builds you do. Always a good time picking up a new glove from you guys. Keep it up!
